Már régóta ékesen ragyog a polcokon a Dell XPS 13, azonban a közelmúltban a Dell újratervezte a notebookot és nevéhez és hozzácsapott egy „Plus” szócskát. Felrázták az amúgy is eszméletlen dizájnt, új hangszórókat, új billentyűzetet, új touchpadet, új kamerát és a legújabb hardvereket is megkapta gép – egyszóval: MINDEN ÚJ. Az XPS sorozat a Dell zászlóshajói között van, tehát minőségi termékről beszélünk. A többi Dell típushoz (pl. Latitude, Inspiron, Precision) képest az XPS laptopok esetében különös figyelmet kap a dizájn és a könnyed használat, ezt a Dell ki is hangsúlyozza. Elődjeihez képest az XPS 13 Plus szélesebb billentyűzetet kaptak, konkrétan nincs semmi felesleges terület, a klaviatúra egészen a laptop széléig elér (ez pedig iszonyatosan jól néz ki). A hangszórók a billentyűzet alól szólnak, ami iszonyatosan jó hangzást biztosít, mivel felfelé sugározza hangot a gép – illetve 4 db hangszórót kapunk, ez laptopok esetében nem túl gyakori. A billentyűzet felett új kapacitív funkciógombok helyezkednek el, melyek LED világításúak.

I’ve enjoyed my time with the Dell XPS 13 Plus so far. Not only is it a solid design with premium build quality and nice looks, it also has an easy keyboard to type on and an intuitive and yet invisible trackpad. And let’s not forget the great-looking OLED screen. All for a reasonable price. It’s not perfect though. I did not care much for that capacitive touch bar, for example, and I also wasn’t a fan of the so-so battery life and the minimal IO. We're getting in-depth on all these aspects in this review.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus is great if you are looking for a compact and slim laptop. It has a striking design with a lightweight and compact form factor, which is particularly convenient if you travel a lot. The borderless trackpad and glowing touch panel give the laptop a futuristic look, meaning this is not something that you see often in laptops. However, the zero-lattice keyboard and the absence of a physical trackpad can be a drawback for users who are not well-versed in the functionalities of a keyboard or are proficient typists. The exorbitant price tag of Rs 1,84,000 may also be a concern for some buyers. The display is the standout feature of the laptop, with its 13.4-inch InfinityEdge display being a delight to look at. Overall, the Dell XPS 13 Plus is a good option for those who prioritize design and portability over practicality, of course, and are also ready to pay a hefty price.

80% Dell XPS 13 Plus (2022) Laptop Review: A powerful ultraportable with unnecessary gimmicks

There's undoubtedly a lot to like about the XPS 13 Plus. It has the feel of a laptop that wants to be used, and that makes you want to use it even more. The screen and speakers are undoubted standouts compared to many other devices in the same class, and the performance is slick enough to satisfy all but the most demanding workloads. However, the hybrid-haptic keyboard idea feels like a mission in style over substance - it's impressive at doing what it does, but we're left questioning whether it's adding anything new to the party (fancy backlighting aside). If there was some tangible benefit to it beyond shaving perhaps a millimetre off the chassis, then we'd be more enthusiastic, but given that it takes a lot of getting used to and is prone to cutting out, it feels like a bit of a gimmick. On the other hand, let's not lose sight of the fact that this is a lovely machine, with a lot to recommend it. If you can stand the steep learning curve of the haptic surfaces, or are willing to be mildly put out until there's a firmware fix, you could do a lot worse than the XPS 13 Plus. It's definitely a machine to consider - but if you're thinking of buying it for its major differences, it might be worth holding off - bleeding edge isn't always the solution.

On a first look, with the premium build, the updated hardware, thermal design, and battery, as well as the improved audio and the multitude of screen options, the 2022 XPS 13 Plus might have what it takes to continue the series’ winning spree over the years. However, Dell decided to experiment with this generation by opting for an atypical keyboard and clickpad design, which could end up being either a success and a unique selling point, or a potential deal-breaker for this XPS 13 generation. Furthermore, they also gimped the connectivity of this series, dumping the card reader and the audio jack, both decisions that affect the laptop’s overall ergonomics in a negative way. I look forward to spending more time with this laptop and gathering my thoughts for a proper review. In the meantime, I’m curious what you guys think about the hardware changes, the OLED screen option, the inputs, and the USB-C-only connectivity of this 2022 Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 series.
