Gyakran előfordul, hogy a gyártók olyan vékony és vonzó laptopokat terveznek, amelyeket bosszantóan nehéz vagy lehetetlen javítani. Még az olyan egyszerű frissítéseket is, mint a RAM vagy a tárhely, általában akadályozzák. A Framework laptop a bizonyíték arra, hogy a vékony és könnyű modelleknek nem feltétlenül kell feláldozniuk a végfelhasználói szervizelhetőséget vagy az olyan egyedi funkciókat, mint a cserélhető portok a hordozhatóság vagy a méret kedvéért.
A Framework laptop a Surface laptopot saját játékában győzi le. Kisebb, lényegesen könnyebben szervizelhető, és több beépített porttal rendelkezik anélkül, hogy mindez a teljesítmény vagy a hordozhatóság róvására menne.
A Framework laptopon néhány dolgot lehetne még javítani. Különösen a fedél és a zsanérok gyengébbek, mint a versenytárs Dell XPS 13, HP Spectre x360 14, Microsoft Surface Laptop, vagy Lenovo ThinkBook modelleknél. Továbbá a ventilátorok nagyobb terhelés alatt hangosabbak. Ezek nem kizáró okok, de a merevebb zsanérok, egy nagyobb és csendesebb hűtési megoldás, valamint a kijelzőnek széltől szélig tartó üveges megerősítése még jobbá tenné a Framework-ot.
