Ilyen a Samsung, amely az idei év elején is előrukkolt egy ilyen készülékkel. Ez a Samsung Galaxy S25, ami a kis méreténél és súlyánál fogva kényelmesebben hordozható, mint a nagy lakli rokonai. Az egykezes használat is szuper kényelmes, és szerintem ennek köszönhetően a fotózás is kényelmesebb. A készülék marha jól néz ki, elegáns, egyáltalán nem olyan bazári majom, mint ami manapság divat a csillogó meg foszforeszkáló hátlapokkal. Szóval égni senki se fog miatta senki. IP68 minősítésű, azaz ellenáll a pornak és víznek. De én azért víz alá nem dugnám be se ezt, se másik telefont.

Ha valaki szereti a kisméretű telefonokat, akkor annak van miért lelkesednie a Galaxy S25 kapcsán, egyébként sok extrát vagy különlegességet nem nyújt a készülék. A kötelező elvárásokat teljesíti, korábbi hiányosságokat pótol és mutat pár szoftveres trükköt, de őszintén szólva semmiben sem emelkedik ki, ha a nagyobb fizikai méretű konkurenciát is bedobjuk a levesbe, hisz azoktól a mobiloktól ugyanez a teljesítmény is megvan. A kameraszett és a kijelző szinte változatlan a Galaxy S22 óta, az induló tárhely idén is 128 GB UFS 3.1-es tárolóval, és a töltés sem lett gyorsabb. Az UWB is kimaradt. Persze megvan a Samsung válasza erre, tessék megvenni a Plus verziót. De ha már ennyire iPhone-t akarnak csinálni a Galaxy S-ből, azt is átvehetnék almáséktól, hogy az alap és plusz verzió között csak a méret és az aksi a különbség.

You get a slightly elevated experience with the Plus also with a big display and battery. However, if a big display isn’t particularly what you are looking for, I recommend you go for the Galaxy S25. Priced starting at Rs 80,999, the phone’s one of the best Android smartphones in the market right now. It gives you the perfect build that’s compact, slim and light. You get great cameras, an excellent display, and the AI improvements would really grow on you. The battery –– while a larger one would have been perfect –– will still get you through a day without any hiccups.

Meanwhile you also have that AI-dense OneUI 7.1 experience on board the Samsung Galaxy S25. Great news if you like to translate stuff, or can't be bothered to read an entire webpage. However, most other aspects of this Sammy smartphone are all too familiar. The Samsung Galaxy S25's camera isn't as impressive as many other flagship phones in 2025. I saw way too much noise in my photos, while pics of moving subjects and portrait shots usually fail to impress.

The device’s peak luminance, measured at 2,600 nits, provided a top-tier readability experience, especially under sunlight. Perhaps the highest praise I can give to a phone in 2025 is that there was just enough AI to not make me go crazy. After three years making essentially the same phone, you’d hope and expect that Samsung would really nail it this time around, and it has. The Galaxy S25 is better than its predecessors in almost every way, and it also beats the iPhone 16 in performance, battery life, and more. Even the Galaxy software and Galaxy AI have gotten better, though some promised features may take longer to develop. Older Galaxy owners take note – this one delivers without pushing the AI too far, and while that may change over time, right now this is the best Galaxy S that Samsung has made, and that makes it one of the best phones you can buy.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is the smallest generational upgrade in recent memory. In terms of hardware, there’s the new Qualcomm chip, some more RAM and an additional 512GB storage option. There are also new colours to choose from, but otherwise, the phone is pretty much identical to its predecessor. This means the biggest changes are found in the software, which isn’t necessarily a problem, but with Samsung’s dedication to long-term software support, most of the new stuff will likely appear on the S24 and earlier models, too. The Galaxy S25 is still the best compact flagship that Samsung has ever made, but if you already own an S24, or an S23 for that matter, there’s not really much reason to upgrade. It’s become a very similar situation to the iPhone upgrade conundrum.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 doesn’t usher in huge amounts of change compared to the Galaxy S24 so unless you’re really looking for a hardware boost, if you have last year’s model, there is little reason to upgrade. That said, if you have an older Samsung Galaxy S model, or another phone that is a couple of years old, the Galaxy S25 is a pocket powerhouse. It has a lovely small form factor that is a delight to hold, a great display, consistent camera results and a smooth and slick performance. There are some clever AI features on board too, and the software makes for a great user experience overall. It might not be the S25 series device that offers it all, but if you’re looking for a small and powerful Android phone, this is a brilliant option.

On the other hand, the rear camera system, display, and charging speeds are all unfortunately unchanged for another year. That isn't quite enough to count the Galaxy S25 out, because Samsung tweaked the design this time round to make it the smallest flagship phone on the market. It might sound crazy to call a 6.2-inch handset a compact device, but it's the best we've got in 2025.

The Galaxy S25 seems like a well-rounded compact device, probably one of the thinnest and lightest in its class, too, but it fails to impress with meaningful upgrades this year, and it's been running on the same camera hardware for a few generations now. Most of all, we are grumpy for not seeing some of the features of S25+ trickle down. There's no bump in the charging speed, no UWB support, it comes with 128GB storage by default, and battery life isn't exactly on par with the competition. Sure, the new AI smarts are nice, but the big upgrade in the software department doesn't make up for the lack of hardware innovation. On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 is a solid all-rounder. It doesn't stand out, but it's somehow "good enough", especially if you are looking for a compact Samsung flagship. That's pretty much your only choice.

Most of Samsung’s new additions are software-based, given the company’s massive partnership with Google and its dogged pursuit of an AI-heavy approach to offering a renewed phone experience through One UI 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. If you’re on an older Korean flagship, chances are you have already experienced many cool AI features seen there either as a download or add-on, or you’ve relied on older versions of its firmware (pre-One UI 7).

If you want the latest and greatest Android flagship in a compact size, the Galaxy S25 should be on your radar. To be honest, there just aren't that many alternatives. While the overall compact flagship formula does not change too much with the Galaxy S25, it is a nice refinement of one of the best compact phones around.

It's too early to pass a verdict on this mini flagship's battery life or everyday experience, but here's an idea of what to expect from this compact OneUI 7 smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S25 is certainly a beast with that 8 Elite, smashing through games like Wuthering Waves, no stress. Plus that gaming mode has FINALLY been updated! The battery tech is unchanged, as is the camera hardware sadly. So while the Samsung Galaxy S25 can capture great looking pics most times of the day, the ultra-wide and zoom sensors struggle at night time. Same goes for that selfie shooter, especially when recording video. Of course, the Samsung S25 is all about AI, as usual. Some but not all of these new features will be coming to the S24, as most of them run on the phone using that 8 Elite's NPU. However, is that enough of a reason to upgrade?

Most of the new AI features seem to revolve around Google Gemini, which is also available on cheaper phones such as the Xiaomi 14T Pro, so I'm a bit confused by the positioning here. Given how expensive the Galaxy S25 phones are compared with their Chinese rivals, they don't seem to have enough to stand out for now. But then again, I wonder just how much AI features people use, and whether these features drive adoption. My gut says probably not a lot. Prices start from S$1,288 for the Samsung Galaxy S25 (256GB), S$1,478 for the Galaxy S25+ (256GB), and S$1,828 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra (256GB). Pre-orders are now open till Feb 13. In other news, the Samsung Galaxy Ring is finally available now in Singapore at S$538. We hope to get the review units for these devices soon, so stay tuned.

Some of the new features represent more meaningful progress. The phone’s AI assistant — which is now based on Google Gemini by default, with Samsung’s own Bixby relegated to access through its app — can control your phone with natural language requests. Ask it to make text bigger or find photos from your last holiday, and it should oblige. Gemini can now also work across multiple apps in a single interaction, though this upgrade isn’t exclusive to Samsung. It might look up a good restaurant and share it with your friend or pull up sports fixtures and add them to your calendar. The problem for me is that most of these features are hard to test in-depth when you’re at a launch event using a phone that isn’t yours, has few apps installed and no accounts signed in, and might have only been set up for the first time that morning.

If you've got money to burn and want the best possible camera setup, check out that Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. This upgrades the ultra-wide to 50MP, while you get the same 200MP main shooter and dual lens telephoto camera arrangement as usual. This 6.9-inch behemoth of a phone also offers that S Pen stylus and more rugged design vs the S25 and Plus. All three boast a glorious Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that's pleasingly bright and poppy, although only the Ultra has that Armor 2 anti-reflection glass. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus sports the same QHD+ resolution, while all three are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite. So gamers should be satisfied, especially as Sammy has boosted the vapor chamber size. No changes in the battery setup however. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and its smaller siblings stick with the same capacity as the S24 series. Likewise, charging speeds haven't improved - although you do get Qi 2 wireless charging support in 2025.

At first glance, we had mixed feelings about Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series. While the hardware is solid as always, it doesn’t really push the envelope in terms of specs, which is somewhat disappointing. That being said, the customized Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC that powers these devices should deliver a nice boost in overall performance, along with improved thermals on the S25 Ultra. This should help to maintain performance during extended use. And again, some of the new AI features and functionality – like Gemini being able to interact directly with apps, and the “Personal Data Engine” secure, on-device LLM – is very intriguing. We’re looking forward to testing this in our forthcoming review.

The good news is that the rumors about price hikes weren't true, so the starting price of the entry-level configurations remains the same - €1,450/£1,250 for the S25 Ultra, €1,150/£1,000 for the S25+ and the vanilla asks €900/£800. The bad news is that all three offer modest upgrades over their predecessors, especially the S25 and the S25+. They both feel kind of neglected this time around. And while the S25 Ultra's new, more pocketable design is certainly exciting, the S Pen has lost its wireless connectivity features, which were the sole reason many of us here at GSMArena HQ took the stylus out to begin with. Samsung might as well do a full circle and offer a version without the stylus altogether. Anyway, one thing is clear - Samsung is betting big on AI and software polish and improvements, but it's early to say how this move will pan out regarding sales.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is now available for pre-order and will officially release on February 7th. In Canada, all three handsets have seen a price increase. The S25 starts at $1,198 CAD, the S25+ at $1,438.99, and the S25 Ultra at the insane price of $1,918.99; we can blame this on our dollar. Although the U.S. price for the S25 Ultra starts at $1,299, which converts to $1,862 CAD, so it looks like there’s a bit of a Canadian premium. I expect a similar experience to last year’s phones, but I hope these AI features will surprise me and upgrade the experience. I’ll put the S25 Ultra through its paces for the next two weeks. It's the same old story once again—or at least it seems that way at this preliminary stage. The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus look strikingly similar, much like their respective predecessors, with the primary differences being screen size and battery capacity. This comparison will soon be updated with benchmark scores and camera samples. However, even at this point, it’s evident that Samsung is sticking to its usual formula: offering a slightly larger version of its standard flagship with a bigger battery and a larger screen. Whether people will be willing to pay the extra $200 for the Plus remains to be seen.

Let’s make no bones about it, you won’t be upgrading to this phone if you have a Galaxy S24, or maybe even if you have a Galaxy S23. Because of the iterative nature of this phone, the feature set will really only appeal to those who have an older handset. There are few changes to the design, and even though the new chipset and 12GB of memory are very welcome, there’s not a lot else here to shout about. And that’s a great shame, since the Galaxy formula is a great one – it’s just this feels very much like an inbetweener. 2026 is a long time to wait for a genuine next-gen device and it feels like on certain specs the S25 has been left behind. Rivals are circling and the S25 doesn’t do enough to keep ahead.

My end feeling after a short time with the Galaxy S25 is that it is a phone that stands very much on its own. With the power and performance on offer, in a phone this small, slim and lightweight, it’s got no competition in the Android space. iPhone 16 and 16 Pro are, arguably, its only real competitors. So if you want a small phone that’s as powerful and feature-rich as you can get, and don’t want an iPhone, this will likely be your best and only choice in 2025. Unless brands like Asus or Sony finally refresh their small phone collections. Its portable and nimble nature are its biggest draws in my mind. But with rumours of a so-called ‘Slim’ version in the near future, could things get even more compact? Only time will tell.

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Integrált grafikus egység a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC-ben okostelefonok számára három, egyenként 1,1 GHz-es szelettel. Integrált 12 MB megosztott gyorsítótár a három szelethez. A Qualcomm szerint 40%-kal gyorsabb, mint az előző generáció (Adreno 750).

SD 8 Elite f. Galaxy: High-end SoC (System on a Chip) okostelefonok számára, amelyet 2024 végén mutattak be.
