Verdict — Not Enough End-User Customization Options
A Framework Laptop 13.5 három legjobb tulajdonsága a javíthatóság, a processzor teljesítménye és a portok sokfélesége. Az új, 13. generációs Core-P CPU-k a méretükhöz képest nagyon gyorsak, teljesítményszintjük az Intel 12. generációs és az AMD Zen 3+ generáció számos H-sorozatú CPU-jának szintjén van. Mindeközben a Framework úgy van megtervezve, hogy javítható és sokféle porttal van ellátva, ezek miatt pedig továbbra is páratlan.
A Framework Laptop 13.5 a javíthatóság és a portok sokfélesége tekintetében a legjobb a kategóriájában, és most még gyorsabb, mint korábban. A dizájn egyes részei viszont kezdenek elavultnak tűnni a versenytársakhoz képest.
Mindazonáltal néhány hátrány kezd megmutatkozni három év után, mivel az alapváz és a megjelenés azóta változatlan. A HP, a Dell, az Asus és mások konkurens modelljei jobb kijelző opciókat kínálnak teltebb színekkel, gyorsabb frissítési frekvenciával és OLED panelekkel, mindezt ugyanabban az 1000 és 2000 USD közötti árkategóriában. Egyes modellek, mint például a nemrégiben megjelent HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook, még RGB háttérvilágítást is kínálnak. Ezek az alternatívák talán nem annyira javíthatók, de mindenképpen masszívabbnak és erősebbnek tűnnek, különösen a Framework törékenyebb zsanérjaihoz képest.
Ha a Framework a javíthatóság megőrzése és a költségek csökkentése érdekében ragaszkodni akar ehhez a jelenlegi dizájnhoz, akkor el kellene kezdeniük több alkatrészt kínálni a felhasználók általi testreszabásához. A világos/matt OLED kijelzőpanelek, az RGB billentyűzetek és színek, a DDR4 helyett DDR5 RAM és a nagyobb felbontású webkamerák segíthetnének a Laptop 13.5-nek lépést tartani a versenytársakkal. Az évenkénti CPU frissítések szépek, de a stagnáló kijelző- és alváz elévültté válhatnak.
